UltraTech Gorilla Temporary Berm
Temporary Containment Drive Through Spill Berms
The UltraTech 'Gorilla' Berm is exactly what it sounds like--super durable, tough and rugged spill containment that you can drive heavy machinery in and out of with ease. The Gorilla Spill Berm is a modular spill containment berm and it allows you to make the containment berm any dimensions that you want. Made of polymer-coated foam support triangular support blocks and covered with a standard 22 oz. anti-skid coated vinyl fabric, the Gorilla spill berm is a true drive-in and drive-out spill containment berm. 'Gorilla' Modular Spill Berm Video
The UltraTech Modular 'Gorilla' Spill Berm can be configured into any size and dimension to fit your spill containment needs. The sidewalls of the spill containment berm are made up of 6-foot-long, polymer-coated foam support blocks. Support blocks for the corners of the containment area are specifically designed to support the overall structure of the spill berm. The liner that covers the support blocks and the support corners is a heavy duty, 22 oz., anti-skid coated vinyl PVC fabric. The triangular support blocks are 72"L x 16"W x 6"H and come with molded in slots to hold rebar, which secures the material in place. The rebar is not included with the Modular Gorilla Spill Containment Berm, but we recommend using #9 rebar, with a 1-inch diameter. The Ultra Spill Containment Berm Modular Model is a true drive-in and drive-out containment berm. There's no need to manually take down the walls required when vehicles and machinery want to enter the spill containment area. For a complete list of what chemicals are compatible with the UltraTech Modular 'Gorilla' Berm, see our Chemical Compatibility Guide (PDF).

UltraTech Gorilla Modular Spill Berm Applications
The Modular 'Gorilla' Model of Ultra Spill Containment Berms is for jobsites that need the freedom to determine the dimensions and size of their spill containment area. The heavy duty, modular Gorilla berm allows the heaviest machinery to drive in and out of the spill containment area. The temporary containment berm can be reused for your different spill containment needs and configured into any other dimension you might need.
In order to maintain the lifespan of the Modular 'Gorilla' Model, you will need to make sure you have the correct accessories. Accessories like Ground Cloth, Track Belts, and the Ultra Repair Kit. A Ground Cloth will sit beneath your Ultra Spill Containment Berm, keeping the ground safe from contamination and keeping your berm safe from anything that would tear or harm it. The Track Belts will protect the top of your spill containment berm from heavy vehicular traffic that can occur with a true drive-in and drive-out spill containment berm. The Ultra Repair Kit is a patching kit that is handy to keep on hand in case of a tear or puncture. Accidents happen occasionally on the jobsite, and it's always better to be equipped with the right tools to rectify the situation immediately.
PROCEDURE FOR BERM DEPLOYMENT:
- STEP1: Select a level area and be sure that ground is swept clean of debris and sharp objects. The use of a ground cloth is recommended to prevent puncturing from underneath the Berm.
- STEP2: Place the folded material at the setup location. Do not drag material. Unfold material and position as desired. If tread protectors are being used, place these in the unit at this time.
- STEP3: Place support blocks around perimeter of the material approximately 2-feet in from the edge.
- STEP 4: Use corner support blocks (Part# 8731), where appropriate to join sidewall sections together.
- STEP 5: Place #9 rebar (1" dia.) in top slots in foam support blocks around perimeter of Berm. (NOTE: Rebar pieces in corner support blocks should be arranged so they do NOT cross on top of each other.)
UltraTech Gorilla Berm FAQs
Rebar is recommended to support the block structure of the Ultra Modular 'Gorilla' Spill Containment Berm. The molded slots on the top of the triangular support blocks are shaped to hold the #9 rebar with a 1-inch diameter. Rebar is not included in your purchase of the spill containment berm, but we recommend having the rebar.
We have complete Gorilla Modular spill containment systems fully available in the dimensions listed. These systems include support blocks, four support block corners, and a liner. However, if your spill containment area isn't listed under our specifications, you can contact us and we can help you determine how many and what size of each component that you will need.
