Adjustable Frame / Economy Frame Model Storm Drain Filter
Most styles of storm drain filters are held in place by the heavy storm drain grate that sits on top of it. With that style of filter, when you lift the storm grate to service the catch basin, the filter falls immediately to the bottom of the catch basin. You can avoid the extra hassle and time spent on the job that this causes simply by using either the Adjustable Ultra Drain Guard or the Economy Frame Model. Instead of being supported by the grate, they are supported by a steel framework. The frame on both of these models adjusts to fit different sized square storm drains. The difference between the Economy Frame Model and the Adjustable Model is the frame's reusability. The Adjustable Frame Model is reusable while the Economy Frame Model is not meant to be reused. Adjustable Model Storm Drain Filter Details
With conventional storm drain guards, the storm drain guard is placed in the catch basin and the excess fabric is trimmed to fit the storm drain opening. Once the storm drain is full, these conventional storm drain guards must be carefully removed with the storm drain grate to keep the drain guard from falling to the bottom of the basin under its own weight.

However, with the Adjustable Model and Economy Frame Model storm drain guard, you don't need to worry about trimming excess material and removing the storm drain guard. The steel frame of the Adjustable Frame Model resizes to fit almost any storm drain. Both the Adjustable Frame Model and Economy Frame Model Drain Guard can hold up to 40 lbs. of sediment. One of the main benefits of the Adjustable Frame Model Drain Guard is the easy installation and removal. The other is the aesthetics of not having excess fabric around the edge of the drain.

Stormwater Filter Guard Applications
The Adjustable Frame Model Drain Guard adjusts to fit different drain sizes without the need for trimming excess fabric. It catches silt, sediment, and debris as it enters a storm drain. Perfect for construction sites wanting to protect storm drains from stormwater runoff, the Adjustable Frame Model and Economy Frame Model Storm Drain Guard make installation simple and easy. You can't afford to waste precious time on the jobsite. Now you don't have to. When it's time to remove the Adjustable Frame Storm Drain Guard, the drain guard itself is held in place by the frame, so you can easily remove it.
Adjustable Frame Model Storm Drain FAQs
The Adjustable Frame Drain Guard can be reused. Typically, each Ultra Drain Guard can be reused, as long as the silt, sediment, and debris are removed from it. If oil and hydrocarbons have been filtered, then the drain guard needs to be disposed of properly in accordance with local regulations. The frame of this drain guard can also be reused, and you can purchase a 10-pack of filters (Part# 8932). To place a new filter on an existing frame, simply remove the old fabric by pulling apart the hook and loop fasteners around the top perimeter of the drain guard and replace it with the new one. The Economy Frame Model cannot be reused.
The life span of a typical drain guard varies depending on the location and environmental conditions. High volumes of stormwater and pollutants will have an effect on the filter's life expectancy. It is recommended that you check the drain guard after each rainfall event to inspect its effectiveness.
