Storm Drain Plugs Installation
When you install a storm drain plug, you will need to remove the eye bolt to prevent the tipping of the floor drain plug during use. Once you need to remove the floor drain plug, you can reinsert the eye bolt. When you remove the conical drain plug completely, you will need to wash it. Luckily, our drain plugs are easy to clean with an abrasive detergent or petroleum solvent cleaner.
Drain Plugs Frequently Asked Questions
Our drain plugs are made from high-strength polyurethane, but they need to be properly cared for. Our conical drain plug selection will stand up to harsh chemicals and stormwater runoff, but overtime and with extended UV exposure, the drain stopper will break down. Drain plugs are meant for fast emergency spill containment efforts and are not recommended for extended outdoor use.
When you need to install a emergency drain plug quickly, the removable eye bolt will assist you in inserting the floor drain plug correctly so they don't tip during spill containment, allowing water to pass through the drain. Once the conical drain plug is inserted, you can remove the eye bolt and let the drain stopper do its job. When you need to remove the storm drain plug, simply reinsert the removable eye bolt.
