Ultra X-Tex Fabric Details
Ultra X-Tex Fabric, the high-performance sorbent material, is made from recycled synthetic materials woven and blended together into a lightweight mass of fiber with a large surface area. X-Tex fabric is a filter media for both stormwater management and oil spill applications. Ultra X-Tex fabric pulls oil and hydrocarbons from polluted water while allowing the clean, filtered water to flow through. The oils pulled from the polluted water are held in the X-Tex fabric and not released back into the filtered water.
The Ultra X-Tex fabric is designed for large volumes of water to pass through it while absorbing an average of 13 times its own weight in liquid hydrocarbons. The Ultra X-Tex fabric is also great for water polishing applications and in stormwater and wastewater filtration systems. The Ultra X-Tex fabric is environmentally friendly and user-friendly. When used, the Ultra X-Tex fabric doesn't leech harmful particles into the environment and when incinerated, it produces minimal residue and ash.

Oil Absorbent Fabric Applications
Oil absorbing Ultra X-Tex fabric can be used in many ways. Some of the standard ways that oil absorbent fabric can be used are stormwater management and in oil spill cleanup. Specifically, oil blankets, which are usually the last line of defense along a shore in the event of an oil spill, are made using Ultra X-Tex fabric. They are placed along the shore and in the surf and hold up to 8.3 gallons of oil, per each 5' x 10' blanket. The Spill Fence is related to the silt fence product, but uses Ultra X-Tex with stakes and wire backing. This Spill Fence is usually placed in sensitive areas like marshes, wetlands, and shorelines with flat water.

Oil Absorbent Fabric FAQs
